Svilaja Mountain

Svilaja Mountain is rich in morphological, caving, climatic, and natural phenomena. This green mountain attracts hikers and climbers who enjoy mountain sceneries, fresh air and walking through rural settlements known as former shepherds' huts. The highest peak named Bat is at an elevation of 1.508m over the sea level. Bat Peak is a nice sightseeing point with an opened view to Dinara – Troglav section and Kamešnica mountains and on mountains near the Adriatic coast like Mosor, Biokovo and Promina. From Donje Ogorje village the ride is possible to the elevation of 1300m, just below the peak. From the end of the carriageway, it takes around 30 minutes to hike to the peak of Bat. During summer time is very hot in this area so I recommend to plan the ride during spring, fall or winter. All the trail is dry and rocky for the most part of the summit.
