Ruda River Spring
About
The Ruda spring is located in the village Ruda close to the town of Trilj in Dalmatian hinterland. The upper part of the river is declared a significant landscape due to the short canyon it flows through and the endangered fish species. Next to the water spring, there is an abandoned watermill that holds a memory of the past and represents the perfect location for meditation and picnic. The attractive landscape of the river Ruda, which flows through the canyon, is an ideal location for walking and relaxing in the natural environment. The waterfalls near the centuries-old stone mill are a sight of the symbiosis of water and stone and a locality bursting with extraordinary energy.
The Ruda River is a left tributary of the Cetina in the Trilj region. The entire river is quite anthropogenically influenced, and even the protected part is not completely devoid of human intervention, but it is still attractive because of the short canyon through which it flows. Leaving the canyon, the river also leaves a significant landscape. Considering the purity of the water and the preservation of the bed and immediate surroundings, the river in its upper part is also home to several endangered fish species.
